Almost exactly half of my life I lived in a socialist and the other half in a capitalist economic system. In one system I was taught the basics of Marxism and political economy during my engineering studies, in the other system I founded a successful company. I know that neither the one nor the other economic system is capable of solving the global problems.

I have had two very important experiences. Under socialism, I was able to experience the selfless solidarity of all people, which is difficult to imagine for someone who has never lived in such a system, and I was involved in the peaceful revolution in 1989 and I know that it is possible to change an economic system to a completely opposite system during normal operation.

Therefore, I know that it is possible to realise the idea described.

Fast genau die Hälfte meines Lebens lebte ich in einem sozialistischen und die andere Hälfte in einem kapitalistischen Wirtschaftssystem. Im einen System wurden mir während meines Ingenieurstudiums die Grundlagen des Marxismus und der politischen Ökonomie vermittelt, im anderen System gründete ich ein erfolgreiches Unternehmen. Ich weiß, dass weder das eine noch das andere Wirtschaftssystem in der Lage dazu ist, die globalen Probleme zu lösen.

Ich habe zwei sehr wichtige Erfahrungen gemacht. Im Sozialismus konnte ich die selbstlose Solidarität aller Menschen erleben, die sich jemand, der nie in einem solchen System gelebt hat, nur schwer vorstellen kann und ich war an der friedlichen Revolution im Jahre 1989 beteiligt und weiß, dass es möglich ist, ein Wirtschaftssystem während des Normalbetriebes auf ein vollkommen gegensätzliches System umzustellen.

Deshalb weiß ich, dass es möglich ist, die beschriebene Idee zu verwirklichen.
